Prevention Presentations

Our community and school-based presentations are available for schools and groups throughout Metro Vancouver for a nominal fee. It can also be made available for schools and groups elsewhere in the province.

We have developed a PowerPoint presentation that addresses eating disorders and disordered eating, media awareness, resiliency skills, and weight and shape bias. The presentation takes approximately 90 minutes, with time for Q & A built in, and can be content-specific for grades 4 through 12. If your school or group is interested, contact Joanna Zelichowska at Family Services of the North Shore jessieslegacy@familyservices.bc.ca or call 604-988-5281 and ask for Joanna.

COVID-19 Agency Update:   We believe that communities must take care of their most vulnerable, and that has never been more important to us than it is right now.  The health and safety of our staff, clients, volunteers, and broader community is our top priority.  Given the current circumstances related to COVID-19 and the input from health authorities, we have made the difficult decision to close our offices and suspend in-person programs effective March 17 and until further notice. This includes our prevention presentations in the community and in the schools.  We will continue to support our current clients as needed by phone, and we will maintain the day to day operations of the Agency with our staff working remotely to continue to respond to the needs of our community.
