You Are Beautiful

You probably don’t hear this enough. Not nearly enough to encompass how incredibly true it is: you are beautiful. Gorgeously, uniquely, and undeniably beautiful. Not because of a number on a scale or a pant size. But because of the way your smile lights up a room and the way your eyes sparkle when you laugh.
You are a treasure, a priceless gem to be handled only by the most gentle of hands. Not because you look a certain way, or don’t eat certain foods. But because your spirit is a light to those around you, which shines so uniquely and breathtakingly bright it would be unbearable to see it broken or buried.
You are a miracle. Not because of the number of calories you ate yesterday, or the labels on your food. But because of the way the sun glints off of your hair, and the way you laugh goofily when you roll out of bed in the morning.
You are a masterpiece. Not because of the shape of your body, or the size of your waist. But because of how your muscles allow you to move and jump and run. Because your heart keeps beating, and it isn’t ready to give up just yet.

You are beautiful, and don’t ever forget that.

About KB:

During high school, I suffered from and recovered from anorexia. I know how hard it is. I know how every single day it seems so tempting to give up. But I also know how beautiful life becomes when recovery is achieved and how worth it recovery is. I hope to help make recovery a little bit easier for everyone who reads my posts, and to prevent eating disorders in the future.
